We had an awesome time camping this weekend at Manatee Springs. I highly recommend it!
First off, this park has a total of four raccoons (at least that’s how many we saw). In place of pesky raccoons, they have pesky deer…everywhere.
They walk right up to your campsite, one even went through our trash!
I don’t know about you, but I’ll take a pesky deer any day over a pesky raccoon. We had a group of 5 deer come up to the camp the first morning. As they were leaving Mr. OverKill thought it would be fun to take our dog, Bo, out after the deer and see what he would do.
Raise your hand if you know what happened next….Uh-huh Bo took off! Who would have thought, a beagle, interested in chasing a deer…hmmm.
Not to worry, our fellow camper, Mr. Snap-On chased him down after he had been gone an hour or so.
After all that excitement, we headed down to the spring for a nice 72 degree dip.
Monkey see, monkey do….
This little guy is one of Little Man’s friends. He and his family came camping with us for Little Man’s birthday present.
Let me tell you 72 degrees doesn’t sound as cold as it is. But, the kiddos didn’t mind one bit…look at this little fish!
Eventually they all wanted to ride in the tube…
And this one…
he is still on his, “don’t take my picture” kick.
But this guy….
man, can he cheese it up!
When we go camping the kids LOVE to dig. They dug these deep holes in the ground, and then Bubba made this….
A spit to roast his dinner on. Too cool!
Of course, I enjoyed taking pictures of the beautiful scenery,
in between fishing..
Mr. OverKill even took some of the kiddos canoeing. (Tootle Bug didn’t want to go.)
Sugar Belle looks a little nervous, no? What a ham!
And of course, the kiddos all completed the Junior Ranger Program.
A seriously fun trip!
