One trick I have learned about teaching math is to switch it up. Whenever I teach a new concept that has then potential of being challenging, I use my trusty whiteboard.
Today, Sugar Belle was learning how to borrow while subtracting. She was intimidated as soon as she saw it on her page. So, I pulled out the white board. Two problems later, she was working by herself.
And she was enjoying herself and building her confidence with a new skill.
She even got the problem right!
Can’t beat that!
